I am new to this group, hello everyone. I just got my first laptop in
December (never thought I needed one), but now I love it to death.

I bought the 12 cell battery for my HP dv6000. I was not expecting to see
six cells sticking out of the bottom of my laptop, I guess I thought there
was some modern technology that could reduce the space needed for the 12
cells. What was I thinking?

Problem is, I don't seem to get that much more time from my 12 cell than I
did from the 6 cell that my laptop came with. Anyone else notice this
problem?

My friend, at present I can tell you the 12 cell battery is two times large than the 6 cell battery, for the battery cell's volume is fixed, generally speaking a laptop battery cell is as large as a AA battery.

Your 12 cell HP DV6000 Battery can't give you any longer battery life than your 6 cell battery, I think the high capacity battery is a fake one.

It's not unusual for the vendor to leave out half the cells to get
the starting price down.
