Windows 7 on an EeePC 702

Well I installed Windows 7 on one of my EeePCs. It is using 7.1GB after
installation. And I have no idea how to turn off hibernation support, so to
gain some more SSD space. Windows 7 includes built-in support for the WiFi
and the sound card. I only installed the XP drivers for the video and ACPI
so far. I'll probably install drivers for the touchpad too. So far so good.
At least I think it is anyway. lol

To turn off hibernation, go to: Control Panel> Power Options> Change
Plan Settings (for whatever plan you have selected)> Change Advanced
Power Settings. Click the plus sign beside Sleep, then the plus sign
after Hibernate After. Choose 0 minutes to never hibernate.

Hi Tazz! No I mean under XP, you can disable it and the hibernation file
disappears and you can recover the space it takes up. Under Win7, you
can turn it off, but the file stays put.

My bad. I forgot part 2. Use the built in disk cleanup utility. I don't
remember if it's in the regular part or if you have to "Clan up system
files". My hiberfil.sys is gone, Win7 RC (7100)

Thanks Tazz. I found one way to kill it. And now it will easily fit on a
8G SSD. <grin>

POWERCFG -H OFF
