| Undisired keypad behavior on IBM ThinkPad T22 I am temporarily using my old IBM ThinkPad T22 because my new laptop is not working. I find that when I put my USB keypad into numeric mode, the laptop converts several of the letter keys on the right side of the keyboard into number keys. I can turn this off by pressing the function key and the numlock key but this also turns off the numeric mode in the keypad. Is there any way I can get the keypad to work in numeric mode but have the keyboard work normally? I think most people would want it to work the way I want it to work. Why would anyone want TWO numeric keypads active at the same time? Thank you in advance for all replies. -- Whenever I hear or think of the song "Great green gobs of greasy grimey gopher guts" I imagine my cat saying; "That sounds REALLY, REALLY good. I'll have some of that!" |

All laptop keyboards I have ever seen work like this. Using a full size keyboard will take care of it though. The only thing I can think of Daniel, is if you use the same keyboard driver for all of the keyboards and keypads, it will work this way. Using separate drivers, which I haven't tried might give them individual control. Nor do I know how to tell Windows to use this driver for this keyboard/keypad and not for this one. But if you figure it out, I think that might work. -- Bill Windows XP Pro SP2 (5.1.2600) Asus EEE PC 702G8 ~ 2GB RAM ~ 16GB-SDHC |

The more recent Thinkpads (in my case: R50 and T61p) have BIOS-options that allow NUM-lock to be independently toggled for external keyboards - I'd recommend the OP to take a look at his BIOS settings if the T22 had such a feature too...
