One way is to use a driver backup program. DriverBackup! (free) http://sourceforge.net/projects/drvback/ Driver Magician ($29.95) http://www.drivermagician.com/ Driver Genius ($29.95) http://www.driver-soft.com/ Another way is to just clone your old drive to your new drive. This probably requires an USB enclosure for the second drive (under 20 bucks). You can clone it with: Paragon DriveBackup Express 9 (free) http://www.drive-backup.com/ You can only the drivers from the old drive too. But they are scattered all over the place in the Windows directory. It is a real PIA this way. But it can be done. The folders you will likely need are: \Windows\Inf \Windows\Driver Cache\i386 \Windows\system32 \Windows\system32\drivers And probably many more. Hopefully somebody else can add to this list if you want to go this route. -- Bill Asus EEE PC 701G4 ~ 2GB RAM ~ 16GB-SDHC Windows XP SP2 |

Grab them on another PC and drop them onto a thumb drive. You could also get them off your old drive, just buy one of the cheap 2.5 inch cases and install your drive in that, plug in the USB cable and away you go. Cheers. Pete |
