The hard drive on my Aspire 2000 went out on me after about 2 years. I replaced the HD and now can't get the restore disk that came with my Acer to boot. Is there a way around this?

Before we go too far with this, did you change the bios to boot from the CD? Can you elaborate on what you have tried?

Yes, I've changed the bios to boot from CD. When I put the CD in and start the system, it tries reading it, spits it out and says it's not a bootable CD.

Right now, I'm running Ubuntu so everything else is working fine because I was able to boot from that disk both CD version and install version.
