Panasonic Toughbook touchscreen

Does anyone have any instructions on replacing the touchscreen for a
toughbook cf-18 ? I replaced the lcd screen on one, the computer works
and the display is brilliant...however , the touch is totally not
functioning. I am at a great big loss.

If you have a touch-capable screen, then it is possible that the screen
you have is not 'exactly' the same as the original, and it is a simple
matter to change the settings on the 8-bit dip switch on the mainboard
that properly identifies the screen to the BIOS. There are only 256
settings, so you could do a binary change on the dip switch until you
get the touch capability.

OTOH, it is possible that you have not installed the touch-capable
portion of the screen properly, or you did not get a touch-capable
screen at all.

Re: Panasonic Toughbook touchscreen

Thanks for the info, the parts that I had didn't come with any
documentation so I pretty much tried to replace things like I found
them. There is alot of doc's out there that tell how to replace LCD
screens , but not alot that describe the touchscreens. I am confused.
