Laptop Batteries

Hi guys i do not know if i am in the right area but PLEASE help. We
have just bought a secondhand Acer Laptop, the first one did not hold
battery life at all it charged to 88% then shut down and would not
start up again. I took it back now we have another acer one. It
charges to 100%, drops to 98% and then suddenly drops after an hour to
5% and then shuts down. Can someone please help me to let me know is
this normal as i have never had a laptop before otherwise i only have
until tomorrow to return it for the second time.

Thanks for all your help

Hayley

This is normal behavior for a battery that has exceeded it's useful
lifetime.

It is normal for an aging battery. If you think you are going to buy
a used laptop with a new battery in it, good luck. Buy a $100 battery
and everything will be fine.

Re: Laptop Batteries

It's not normal, this would usually suggest a bad battery rather than a
bad computer. USUALLY, not necessarily always.
