Acer Aspire 5100

I have a problem with my Acer laptop computer. I have just switched it on
and find that most the text is twinged reddish. It all loads ok and I get
to the XP desktop but everything has this pinkish colour around the text.
Is this is a graphics card problem, virus problem or what?

Any help please.

Thanks

Roger

Sounds like a hardware problem to me. It would be great to hook up an
external monitor to it and see if that has the same problem. If it does,
sounds like a bad video card.

I personally have had a good experience with Acer's repair service on a
machine under warranty. What I regret is the fact that their support
site is limited in terms of available drivers for their machine.
Reinstalling my own XP on a brand new machine proved to be difficult
since one of the necessary drivers (wireless) could not be found on the
site. After two days of search, I finally identified and found the file
which was ... on ASUS driver!

The fact you probably have a hardware problem does not warrant in itself
a bad opinion on Acer, just bad luck I believe.

Regards
