Hello,
I have had to reinstall windows xp on my gateway 450 laptop.
I have also reinstalled all the drivers from gateway...from their cd.
However, ethernet won't come back.
The wireless comes up, but I can't connect to any network...even
though I can see them.

Any ideas?

Modem also does not show up or work.

I would suggest first verify the drivers are loaded by looking at device
manager to see if they loed ok.

Second goto the gateway website listed below:

http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/dlcenter.asp

enter your serial number and download the drives and burn them to a cd or
flash drive from a computer that can access the internet. Then try loading
the drivers again.
