| Toshiba Satellite L30-113 - poor battery performance I've just bought my first laptop which has Vista Home Basic & 2GB of RAM. According to the sales literature the battery life ought to be 2.5hrs but I barely get an hour out of a fully charged battery, even with the wifi turned off and the screen brightness turned down. With wifi on I'm lucky to get 45 mins. The battery model # is PA3450U-1BRS & is allegedly 2000mAh. Is this par for the course or is it likely that I have a faulty battery? Ta |

OTOH, if Vista has the equivalent of Disk Indexing that can be turned off, the HD power consumption for this service might be the sourced of the off-performance. Q |

In the case of Toshiba, they test with wireless turned off, the screen set to 30% brightness, all non-essential processes stopped, and with the computer set to stand-by after 15 minutes. You are lucky getting what you do. Honu |
