This is my second try at a post here in the Intro and Greeting section. I am following the instructions provided to me in a private message from the moderator in order to qualify this message as an acceptable means of clearing the nag message at the top of each page on this site.

I have personally owned three tablet PCs in the past two years and currently use the Toshiba m205. I have also converted 2 small (100+ person) companies and one federal government (DoD) organization to tablet pcs.

Hopefully this is enough information to keep the moderator from deleting this message too. I despise overly heavy-handed moderation, but I am also a Tablet PC evangelist and like to stay in contact with the community by any and all means.

So, what do you say LPH? Does this qualify as a legitimate introduction post? Clearly everyone can learn a lot about me from it.

Yes, that introduction is much better than your "10 letters" post which didn't explain whether you knew what was happening or you were being funny. I'm glad you have a good sense of humor. :D

Sorry you thought it was a heavy hand of moderation but this board has been hit hard over the last few days with profane member registrations and rather nasty emails and poor taste posts. Attacks are occuring at a rate of about one every 8 seconds and some people have done other things that don't need to be described.

You see Kupe, some people are filled with hate and anger. Some believe that I've betrayed them by having a discussion board about the Tablet PC. I'm just a human being with an opinion that Life, computers, Microsoft and Linux can all live together. I'm not better than you or most other people on this planet. I have a dream that a tablet should be in every student's hands. It's a goal worthy of my time. Not everyone thinks that way. That belief scares some people.

Welcome aboard. It is always great to have people around with a good tablet background.

Oh, I should provide a little more detail (just in case someone is reading too far into my original post).

A valid email address must be used to become a member of this site. A validation link is provided in an email to all new members. The requested member id is then placed in a group "waiting for activation." Someone who uses a fake email address will never get their activation link and is never able to become an active member.

An increase in the number of bounced emails started to occur over the weekend. This is why you'll see the membership go up over 600 and then drop back down. Maybe you even saw it when it said over 620 because that is how many fake membership ids are being created between my times checking it.

Anyway, I want to keep this board as real as possible. No fake email addresses and no trolls.

Uhm, at this hour in the morning, I hope that is making sense.

Kupe and John - Glad you know you're both using Tablet PCs! John hope you enjoy the Toshiba. I think it's a good notebook with the benefit of Tablet features. Kupe, you said you've had 3 Tablets. Which ones did you have before the Toshiba?

I was merely responding with the minimum length post (a pop up stating my message had to be at least ten characters long) for what I viewed as a superfluous requirement.
Some people are filled with loyalty too and will sometimes react rashly if they feel those loyalties are being unfairly judged.
Motion and Compaq. Liked them both - like the Toshiba even better. They all have their tradeoffs - for me the Toshiba is right at this time.
