Purchasing Toshiba / Electronic Medical Record

Post Split off from another thread:

Hi
I am new to this. I am buying my toshiba this week. I need to be able to mark up Microsoft Word documents for my homemade Electronic medical record to work. If I downtload the microsoft XP service pack, will that make it work?

Xp Sp2

Welcome to the website !

What type of Toshiba are you purchasing?

The XP SP2 (Service Pack 2) Release Candidate is available for a free download and I'd highly recommend it for all Tablet PC users.

MS Office 2003 has inking capabilities native to the application. There shouldn't be any issue.

I saw in another post that you were asking about PDFs. I haven't worked with them on the Tablet except to read them. Maybe someone else can answer your question.

I'm using Office 2002 and I can select from the 'Insert' menu 'Ink Comment or Drawing' and write to MS Word. It 's not truly ink aware as a new box opens that allows you to write and then it technically saves it as drawing I think. But it works! I also agree with LPH about running the Service Pack it makes a great difference in the way the tablet can be used.
