| Home Inspector says "Hi"! Greetings, all! I'm obviously new to this site- I don't own a tablet yet, but am certainly enjoying the loan of a Motion 1600. I really need to know a list of BASIC refurbished dependable, rugged tablets that can be acquired at a very reasonable cost (under $300). The Fujitsu 3500 R may be the one to most fill the bill, but I'm open to your input. Bulk purchases are certainly an option, as we have 9,300 members who may be interested. I'm the Director of Benefits for the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors (Home Inspector - The National Association of Certified Home Inspectors) and President of the Idaho State Chapter. I have a simple Word-based inspection report, and would like to have a workhorse type of tablet that does not represent a major investment. That's the same reason why I only buy rugged used digital cameras from pawn shops for less than $30, in case they get crunched during a home inspection! My thoughts are that an inspection can be done with it, saved to a memory stick via a USB port, then fine-tuned & emailed from the faster office PC. Help, anyone? Thanks! Russ

| Re: Home Inspector says "Hi"! Welcome to the website. I am not one to recommend used equipment unless you know the person you are purchasing from - otherwise - you are probably just purchasing someone else's problems. Yet, you seem happy with used equipment so you might consider finding a computer recycler who will help you. I would greatly be concerned about technical support of the system after your purchase. As a final thought, you might consider emailing fpcinfo@fujitsupc.com and asking about the systems. If you are interested in the 3500 then make sure you consider the outdoor screens. Best of luck.

| Re: Home Inspector says "Hi"! Thanks for the comments - and the lead! Two of the most common questions new inspectors have, is which software and what handheld or PC to use during an inspection. As we all get older, handhelds can be sight-challenging. I'm looking to provide a reasonably-priced alternative.
