Hello all,

I currently am in the market for a tablet or slate, and am leaning heavily towards a slate, because:

1. I carry two notebooks with me at all time, one of which is a "task" list, and the other is for phone/meeting notes. (I've kept all of my notebooks, sequentially dated, for many years, and find myself looking in back in them...
2. I don't write in cursive. I print. It's my understanding this is preferable.
3. I travel approximately once a month. I've been avoiding a laptop of any kind, because I basically don't want to carry it. Plus, going through security these days makes me want to carry less, not more.
4. I need only Office, PPT, AC/DC, and ACT.
5. I need a DVD/RW
6. With the exception of simple photo editing in AC/DC (batch resizing, rotating, cropping, etc) I don't need any/minimal graphics/audio capabilities. This isn't about gaming and watching movies. It's about getting my work done efficiently and comfortably.

So...with this being said, does anyone have any suggestions, ideas, or comments?

Hello and welcome to the forums.

Others may have a different opinion but you might consider a the importance of a good indoor/outdoor screen. Also, I prefer the convertibles but they are heavier.

I have to admit, the more I research them, the more a convertible is going to be in the running. I'm just a little nervous about the structural/electrical integrity of the single pivot point for the screen.
