| We are having difficulty resolving an issue where the embedded links in a Flash media app on an educational site will not work. After we login to the site (required for our participation and access) most of the buttons in the pop work but the ones that are text hyperlinks simply will not be recognized as such. I have turned this in to Gateway technical support, but was hoping someone might have some idea why these links will simply not work on the TabletPC? The links in question DO work fine from any other desktop or notebook PC we try so long as it is not one of the tablet PC's. This sounds like a driver or function call issue to me, but not being a programmer, I am not sure. Any ideas and help are appreciated. Bill |

| A few questions. Let's start with some questions. What type of Tablet PC are you using? What type of Operating System release is on the Tablet PC? What Browser and version are you using?

Now I need to point out that through these trials and tribulations, I had first removed XP SP2 and tried that. Did NOT fix the problem. I then reformatted the hard drive in my Tablet PC and used the DVD restore disk and put my Tablet PC back to a like new state WITHOUT SP2 or extraneous software and that still did not fix the problem. I have since reinstalled SP2 as I do NOT feel that this has contributed to this problem. The site in question is k12.com and is an educational online system for educators throughout the country. The initial login screen requests the install of the Macromedia flash player. After accepting that, the login POPUP window showing the k12 logo appears and then the teacher logs in. Once logged in, most of the buttons and items inside the site work with the most vital pieces which are text hyperlinks in something like a calendar format that they click to navigate to their curriculum areas. It is very bizarre. It is like only partial funtionality exits. I hope this adequately explains the situation. If you have other questions, I will be happy to try to address them the best that I can. |
