| Greetings Hello, I've just joined this forum and would like to say hello to all. I've been using touch screen computers for survey research studies over the past 8 years and began using pen tablet computers (Fujitsu & Toshiba) about 2 years ago. In general I've been very happy with them. I particularly like the new Toshiba M200. I do have a question, if anyone reads this ... I remember reading something several months ago about a company that was planning to produce a very small pen tablet computer and that they had gotten a waiver from Microsoft regading the screen, such that they would be allowed to use XP Tablet OS, but still have a screen that would respond to the touch of any stylus or even a finger - like more traditional touchscreen computers. I cannot, unfortunately, recall the name of the company or where I read about this product (assuming I didn't dream it). Has anyone here heard about this kind of tablet pc? Thanks. |

| Wonderware Hi Greg, Welcome to the Tablet PC Questions forums. Are you asking about Wonderware products? The screen sizes seem to start at 10-inch though and I get the feeling you are thinking smaller.

| Thanks for the suggestions. The Sony U-70 looks like the kind of device I had in mind. But, I have a feeling I'm going to wait for it to be distributed in the U.S. so I don't have to pay nearly $2,500 for it through Dynamism or similar importers. |

| There has been considerable chatter about combining resistive and active features on a Tablet PC (other than as a rugged unit, like the Xplore iX104), 8.4" or smaller units with passive digitizer, etc. People wish for Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 on: Sony U-70 Vulcan Flipstart OQO Ultra Personal Computer Then annouced with resistive display, but not yet shipping: Qbe Altus (possibly the one you're thinking of - articles came out around mid-April) PaceBlade (mentioned a few times, but website still shows resistive with Linux only) and two or three others that just slipped my mind. I'll post when I rememember. :-D |
