| Vista and bestbuy Went to bestbuy today. Saw they did not have a single laptop computer on the floor. Reason is they sent them all back to have vista installed and they will return with vista installed on the day it's to be sold. Sales guy said they had approx 140 they had to ship back to where it's going to be Installed and then ship them all back in less then one week. |

Just means all buyers will end buying laptops with Vista installed even if they could not care less, and that they will face the corresponding hassles. Microsoft does a very good job of strong arm selling an OS which, AFAIK, brings only cosmetics demands on hardware, and a few improvements in the Network handling areas. The rest means more hassles than anything. I would suggest you run to stores still carrying XP systems and offer to save them the trouble of shipping back and forth. You might get a good deal in staying away from the an OS which brings no real advantage to users ... and save yourself lots of headaches, if experience is any indication. Best regards -- John Doue |

| Re: Vista and bestbuy I don't see how anyone can make that statement unless they have hands on with the final product which I take it you do by your reply. By this I take it we should just go back to a form of DOS correct ? I think It was better to have some form of xp Installed then get the Vista upgrade and Install It if you want. This way you have 2 ways to go not one. John Doue wrote: > Kevin Weaver wrote: >> Went to bestbuy today. Saw they did not have a single laptop computer >> on the floor. In fact we have just restored the XP build to the PCs on which it was being trialled. > By this I take it we should just go back to a form of DOS correct ? > I think It was better to have some form of xp Installed then get the Vista > upgrade and Install It if you want.
