T42 takes minutes to wake from hibernation - Python running wild

My T42 often takes a very long time to wake up from hibernation -
minutes long, much longer than boot. This AM, it did it again, and I
checked Task manager when it finally woke up. Python taking up 99% of
the CPU. I should note I've defragged everything, even hiberfil.sys, so
that's not the problem. I have antispyware and antivirus, and don't
have lax downloading habits.

I've noticed Python taking over the machine before. I've also noticed
programs like "ucgather" doing the same, esp. after boot. Both come
from the IBMTOOLS installation on the machine. How can I safely get
rid of all this crapware from them?

Dave

Hi,

I've noticed similar effects after resuming from Hibernate - with the
Bittorrent client, which is written in Python...
Could it be Bittorrent that's screwing up the Python VM in some way?
(Assuming you are running Bittorrent ofcourse...)

Also be worth scanning through the list of open handles for the python
process... (using Sysinternal's fine process explorer). Might give you
a clue about what Python may be doing/waiting for?

Regards,
Vishal.
