I need to replace the display assembley on my HP Pavillion ZE5300.

The manual shows how to do this, and it seems fairly simple. However, the
manual states that I will need a Service Utilities floppy disc to replace
the EEPROM on the mother board. The manual says this can be downloaded from
a restricted Partnership web site.

Is there any way I can get this disk?

As an alternative, I might just remove the old display assembley, top and
all, and plug the laptop into an external monitor. The question is, would I
need that floppy disc in order to do this?

Call hp and ask for one? You never know until you try.
