| Using restore discs? ? ? I have two identical laptops, bought new at the same time -- HP Pavilion ZE5375US. Thus I have two complete sets of Restore discs, including the Windows XP Home restoration disc. I now need to restore one of the laptops to the original out-of-the-factory condition. But I don't know which set of discs goes with which laptop? They look identical. Does it matter which I use? |

| Re: Using restore discs? ? ? No, in this case it doesn't matter. If the laptops were different models, it might matter. But since they are the same, it doesn't. Unless there was a revision by HP in the software load, the two sets of CDs will be identical anyway. If there was a revision, they might have some differences in them, but either should still work ok. A "purist" might put the CDs into a computer and look at the file dates to see which was the later of the two if they were different (however, depending on what changed and why, there might be a reason for preferring the earlier one).
