Dont install from "some website somewhere" Get it from Sony. http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/sel...IRECTOR=DRIVER Sony says there is no PCF-XG29, bt there IS a PCG-Xg29 http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/mod...=PCGXG29&LOC=3 > > So, I've got the files, but I haven't a clue what to do with them. > > When I open the Readme.txt file with Notepad I get text like this: > > I'm running Windows 2000 Pro. > > Here's a list of the files that came in the drive ZIP file: > > Nm2380.inf > Neomagic.hlp > nm2380cp.dll > nm2380dp.dll > nm2380mp.sys > Nmgcnt5.cat > Readme.txt > Tsb.dll > bytes > Those AREN'T chipset drivers. THey're video drivers, for a common (older) intigrated video chip. You may need them, but get them from Sony, too. There are a whole bunch of "system component" drivers from Sony that you'll need, to resolve all those yellow question marks in the device manager. Those are closer to being chipset drivers. > I tried right clicking on the Nm2380.inf file and then clicking > install, but nothing seemed to happen. > > Will in Seattle > a.k.a. "Clueless" |
