Anyone opened an A110-series Toshiba Satellite?

I have Toshiba Satellite A110-110 with Celeron M 410.
Other notebooks from the same series have Core Solo or even Core Duo. I
wonder if I will be able to upgrade.

Has anyone opened this laptop and checked if the processor is in a socket or
soldered down to the motherboard?

Re: Anyone opened an A110-series Toshiba Satellite?

The processors are pretty much all socketed, but upgrades to laptops are
very, very "iffy". First, it's hard to find the proper processors, the
mobile processors are not always offered as boxed product or even OEM
except in very large volume. Second, the upgrades don't always work.
As an example, the 1410/15 (Celeron) and the 2410/15 (Pentium 4) were
seemingly identical except for CPU. They even used the same service
manual and the same BIOS download file. But the upgrades didn't work,
not even on a CPU that came out of an 2410/15. There was SOMETHING
about them that was critically different, and if you put a P4 (the
CORRECT P4) into a 1410/15, it would not even POST.
