IBM Thinkpad T30 series

I have an IBM Thinkpad T30 series and I am completely locked out of
the operating system. When I logon I get a error on the date and
time then it goes to a blck screen asking for a password. How do I
get to the operating system What password is it looking for?

Re: IBM Thinkpad T30 series

If you are getting an error on your initial boot screen, then your
CMOS battery is dead.

Since the BIOS password is saved to flash, it would survive the dead
CMOS battery. You will need to remember the BIOS password you set.

If the BIOS flash memory got corrupted, then you are going to need
to replace the motherboard. Most laptops won't let you flash the
BIOS without entering the existing BIOS password.
