Sony Vaio VGN UX50 and the like ...

I have had my Sony VGN UX50 for about 6 months .. thanks to poor vision and
cataracts, I can't fully appreciate this great little machine ... I am
getting my eyes FIXED in January and wondering what to expect .. I strain my
eyes to read most everything on my computer . Thought many times about
selling it, BUT I LOVE IT and remain hopeful that I can use my Sony more
often and longer once my eyes are 20/20

machine?

The only demonstrable arsehole is you - and you haven't the courage to
admit that you've made a fool of yourself..

If you weren't so stupid, you'd know that corrective lenses do nothing
for someone with cataracts that are bad enough to be operable.

You're continuing to demonstrate that you have the intelligence of a
lobotomised wood-louse.

Than god all US citizens aren't quite as stupid as you - at least I hope
not. Mind you, you lot did vote Bush into the White House - which might
suggest otherwise.

Why are you expecting me to be an opthalmologist for such?

You are extremely stupid to think so...I have distant relative that had
cataract in the past but he was still able to read with glasses.on ...
That is how I see that fella...do you understand creep?

If glasses would make my vision 20/20 I would wear them if they were THICKER
than bottle caps .. Glasses - no matter how thick, will not give me 20/20
vision .. or even close to that. I can look at the screen for a few
minutes and then I need to rest my eyes .. everything is dark and a blur.

Wrong my friend .. we didn't vote him into office .. he stole the elections
... I think Bush is an embarrassment to this country .. actually .. I don't
care any more. I stopped voting .. Votes don't matter any more ...

Now how can that be? Isn't the US a democracy?

Don't.

Don't. Being charitable to US citizens, that's how Bush became your
President - obviously too many folk took the attitude "I'm not going to
vote because it doesn't matter."

>Votes don't matter any more ...

If all US citizens took that attitude, then your country is going to
keep on getting embroiled in conflicts abroad - you'd think that the US
would have learned it's lesson after Vietnam.

You can expect to have vastly improved vision, but might still need some
correction since the cornea transplant is not perfect. Your surgeon
should be able to fully explain what you will expect. I have several
friends who have had cornea transplants, and their most significant
problem was the requirement for cheap reading glasses when using their
computers.

And I have had cornea transplants in both eyes (at different times). In
fact afterwards the OP will most likely require prescription lenses for
both near and far-sight - as I myself requited. I chose to have
vari-focals plus an additional pair of glasses for computer working.

Here in the UK, H & S regulations, where an employee is required to work
at a computer terminal for longer than one hour per day, employers are
required to arrange and pay for a sight test (and glasses for computer
work if the sight test indicates that glasses are required).

The point I was trying to make is that when a person has cataracts, then
a proper sight-test (for prescriptive glasses) cannot be properly done.
