Hi, I sure hope that with this Li-ion battery debacle spurs design
engineers to buckle under and get fuel cell technology into laptops.
Fuel cell technolgy has been "almost there" for half a decade. Makes me
mad as wireless third gen, high speed data, is also a mirage in the

You think fuel cells make better batteries? I don't know, thus why I
asked. Also I am not convinced that fuel cells are really that good
anyway. The thing that you hardly hear is that fuel cells take more
energy than you get back. But for laptop use, this shouldn't be a big
deal. Running automobiles, this is a big deal!

Btw, nuclear batteries last dozens of years before they require a
recharge. Although I don't think they are available in higher currents
that laptops demand yet. Plus I have no idea what they cost either.

Taking the full electrical cycle into account, fuel cell batteries
should be far more economical overall than are rechargeable batteries,
although initially there will be a premium in the cost. The only
question I have is how the cells can be recharged with fuel.
