| Use a mouse pad with an optical mouse? I never used a mouse pad with an optical mouse, but I know most people do. The reason being is that they slide better without. Plus I heard years ago that optical mice don't need them. Well guess what? My optical mice sometimes jumps around for no known reason. It never got really bad, so I just ignored this behavior for years. And today of all days, it really got bad. So I grabbed a mouse pad and it is perfect. Everybody else knew this, eh? -- Bill |

| Re: Use a mouse pad with an optical mouse? What kind of surface were you mousing on? Optical mice don't like really shiny, reflective surfaces. For a long time now, I've just taken a piece of good printer paper (real smooth) and wrapped that around a mouse pad. Gives good movement and best tracking surface for the rodent. White surface also allows it to go into sleep mode more easily. | Re: Use a mouse pad with an optical mouse? Yes I use a shiny flat surface which the cleaning lady probably waxes all of the time. The trick I used to do was to lift it up when it got weird. Although it just has been getting worse and worse overtime. Also thanks for the tips as well. :) Bill "Val" <vmanes@NOSPAMrap.midco.net> wrote in message news:y8Kdna5A1bk3JxPYnZ2dnUVZ_hm3nZ2d@midco.net > What kind of surface were you mousing on?
