Drive. Any one know which drives will work in this beast. Is it locked

Should work fine with any reasonable sized 2.5" ATA drive. When I had an
1800 series, I changed the standard 15GB 4200rpm drive for a 5400rpm 30GB
(then IBM) Travelstar. A bit faster and absolutely no problem. The laptop
has since been sold on and it's still fine.

Nick,
Thanks for that. The smallest I can find at present is a 40, which
seems a bit of an overkill.... But at least the prices are OK.

Dave

Re: Toshiba Satellite 1800

Virtually any 2.5" IDE drive will work. That model came in a ton of
configurations covering a huge range of capabilities from very low end
to very high end. They all look the same but can be very different
internally.
