| Anyone got an NEC Versa S940 - two questions please? Hi just got myself a used Versa S940 of eBay and very happy with this laptop, but it did not come with an user guide and there are two questions I have that I am sure would have been answered if I had the guide. I cannot find any links to download the guide via Google. So here are the two questions. 1. The HDD indicator just above the main power switch usually glows blue with HDD activity, but sometimes it glows orange!. Any idea what the significance of the two colours are? 2. The power meter (battery indicator) in the system tray only shows remaining battery as a % not as a remaining time. On every other laptop I have had running XP SP2, you always see this as remaining time when hovering the mouse cursor over the battery icon. Any ideas how to show remaining time? TIA DeeBee |

Does that LED also indicate CD-ROM activity? Maybe blue=HDD, orange=CDROM. > 2. The power meter (battery indicator) in the system tray only shows > remaining battery as a % not as a remaining time. On every other laptop I Not all machines have the infrastructure to estimate remaining battery time, though I agree it's unusual. |

| Re: Anyone got an NEC Versa S940 - two questions please? The color MIGHT indicate reading vs. writing access (just a guess). Quite a few laptops only show %. Neither % nor time is precise enough to be relied on for anything other than a very rough indication of where you stand on remaining power.
