| Replaced LCD didn't work. RMA for a different one Well I have been working on this same laptop for almost 8 months now. The laptop (Fujitsu Lifebook S series 6210) had its LCD broken and part of the inverter. So I replaced the LCD and inverter. The video worked but the backlight did not on the new LCD. Luckily the company allowed me to return it for a replacement thinking the CCFL might have been damaged. Now I just finished installing the new LCD/inverter and same issue. I can see video, but the backlight isn't functioning. I still think it has something to do with the lid close toggle switch which is inside the right hinge. The bezel acts like a toggle ( I assume ). But I don't want to damage the laptop by opening that particular area. The bezel has a longer end where it fits inside the right hinge. Anyway I've tried everything that I can think of. An external monitor is always an option but I'd rather not since I have a faster desktop PC already. Does anyone know about this model and what I might be missing? --shockwa |

Set it to do nothing when you close the lid. So your desktop is faster than your laptop, eh? Lucky you! Mine is slower than my laptop. Thus I use my laptop as my desktop too. Although the desktop (2002 era) is still plugged in just in case the laptop ever dies (2006 era). -- Bill |

And the plug on the right of the inverter is plugged to the LCD. These plugs to my knowledge can't work the other way so I would think its installed correctly. ( I have thought about using a volt meter to see if the inverter is getting power and/or out the other end. I have been warned that it outputs somewhere between 1000 volts. So my focus now is figuring out how this models lid close toggle switch works. Again it is a Fujitsu Lifebook S series 6210. |
