| Video drivers for Dell Latitude C640 go CRAZY!! I have a Dell Latitude C640 in which I recently replaced the hard drive. After installing winows xp Pro all is fine. I first noticed a problem though with scrolling internet pages. the screen doesn't roll smoothly, instead it seems to refresh itself to display the new portion of the webpage (very choppy). Upon inspection there is not video driver. The card in the laptop is ATI Radeon 7500 32MB (I don't know if it is the mobility version). Using windows to install the ATI Technologies, Inc. Radeon 7500 Family all seems well. However, the scrolling problem is the same. So...I changed the display settings (resolution) and all hell broke loose. The screen is wildly shaking, buzzing, flashing, etc. To the point that nearly nothing is recognizable. Using my desktop as a guide I managed to change the resoluiton back but the problem persists still. The laptop is essentially unusable to me right now. PLEASE! How can I fix this. I am more than willing to clear the hard drive and reinstall if thats what it takes. I should mention though, that this is the second time I had to erase the HD and start over. Thanks in advance. |

| Re: Video drivers for Dell Latitude C640 go CRAZY!! Go to the Dell site and look up your laptop. Obtain the correct video card drivers from there. http://support.dell.com/support/down...d=2552&libid=6 LCDs generally only work well at the one specific resolution.
