Subnotebook suggestions

Hello. I am lokking for a fairly small and very light notebook or
palmtop computer that would be useful for writing (anywhere). It should
have very long battery life (4-20+ hours), be small enough to carry
around comfortably but still touch type on, have a sharp screen, no
large drives (CD-ROM, etc.), and have a battery, if rechargeable, that
would last after many charges (Ni-Cd). It also shouldn't be too
expensive, or over 250 dollars, and perhaps will have DOS or something.
So far the old HP 200LX and Lexmark Lexbook MB-15 look best to me. Any
ideas?

Regards,
xatapu
