| an Thinkpad R32 problem Hi All, I have an IBM R32 laptop. It works well for about four years. But, recently I sometimes can't start or resume it. In such situations, If I flip the laptop upside dwon and tap it, I may work again. I don't why. My friend has the similar symptom. Would anybody know the problem and how to solve it? I guess that I need to replace the CMOS backup battery. thanks in advance. |

| Re: an Thinkpad R32 problem Flipping over and tapping sounds more like a cold/bad solder joint somewhere. Try pulling on stick of RAM at a time and rebooting.. Either RAM slot issue or BGA mount problem w/video chip.. (Have seen both on this model).. Good luck! |
