My family just ignores my advice to keep their internet security suite or at least antivirus current. So after 6 months their computers start acting like they're filled with maple syrup -- 15 minute boots, constant internet disconnect, etc.. So they live with this for a few months before calling me right before they start pulling their hair out. So I then have to come over, fight with the cranky PC to get important files saved (they never backup data), erase the HD, and reinstall Windows, install SP2, install the anti-virus program, install updates to said antivirus program. This is all simple stuff, but they don't know how to do it. so I spend 3 hours at their house. And all I get usually is some crappy Tombstone or Red Baron freezer pizza that has the consistency of cardboard and a couple of Cokes (if I'm lucky!). :-) ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Unrestricted-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 120,000+ Newsgroups ----= East and West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =---- |
