I was asked to check out this laptop. Symptoms: would not power up, battery
in or out or adapter power. Sent off to repair shop who diagnosed a power
controller problem and replaced the unit. After 2 days it packed up again
and went back under warranty. Fixed again and lasted from May this year
until yesterday. Now showing the same symptoms again, so presumably the
power controller has died again.

Anyone had similar problems with this model of laptop?

Think best to tell my friend to bin this machine as I believe its likely to
have another failure if repaired.

Any comments would be appreciated!
