Is there some kind of cleaner disk that can spin in a cdrom
and /or external cd burner? Is it a "wet" or "dry" type of
cleaner.

Yes just about any store carries this.

There are some CDs with tiny brushes on the bottom surface to clean the
lens. They don't do much or work very well, but they do exist. I've
cleaned the lenses manually with a q-tip that had Windex or alcohol on
it. Be VERY careful, the lens is mounted in a "voice coil", it moves
and any movement too great will damage it. Basically, you want to touch
the lens but not move it. This is a "last resort" procedure when the
drive is about to be scrapped anyway.

Cleaner disks are quite common. Their only problem is that they will only
work if the CD/DVD drive can actually read the disk.

Thanks Barry. I will try the commercial cleaners. Understand
they have 2 types "wet" and "DRY" I dont want to fool with
opening up the cdr or cdrw if I can do it easier with a cleaner
disk.
