Sony Vaio keyboard replacement - help please

Hi
I need to replace the keyboard on a Sony Vaio PCG FR315B (probably a FRV
series in the US)
Two problems - I can't find a source to buy the keyboard - Sony UK would
refuse to supply direct so I haven't tried there.
The second problem is I can't work out how to remove the duff keyboard.
I have the schematic and a fair bit of experience with other laptop
dissembling but this one got me fooled.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Conrad

You might email http://www.impactcomputers.com/sony-pcg-fr.html and see
if they know of anyone in your area, or can sell you the keyboard from
the US.

Many Viao notebooks are accessed by first removing the strip next to the
hinges that has the power button, speakers, etc. If yours has this,
then the strip is typically retained by a screw on the left margin,
often hidden in a USB port flap. The strip slides about 3/8 inch to the
left, and lifts out, exposing the keyboard retaining screw. One must
take care when lifting the strip out so as not to bend, break or
disconnect any of the fragile ribbon cables.

You might also find help at the unofficial Vaio site:
