thinkpad x30 unintentionally powers up

I got a disturbing problem with a x30

It just powers up - almost randomly

with closed lid, in the bag , also with open lid

I turned off almost any bios option dealing with automatic power-up

what else can I do?

best

pierre

Pull the battery out would do it for sure. Unless the laptop is haunted,
then it doesn't need batteries to turn on. ;)

Other things you can do is to fire up Windows and in the device manager,
disable power management for the wireless and whatever else you can
find.

Perhaps disabling 'wake on lan' and 'wake on anything' would also help.

Does the BIOS have the wake at specific time function? If so, is it
set?

Re: thinkpad x30 unintentionally powers up

yes, I disabled all wake on ... stuff.

I also did a firmware update.

Of course the battery-out-method works, but I hoped on more elegant
solutions

Re: thinkpad x30 unintentionally powers up

Is it possible that winxp "scheduled tasks" power up the thinkpad?
