| Can't See Drive on HDD in an Enclosure Hi, My laptop crashed, and I bought an enclosure and threw my HDD into it, however I do not see a drive. I have File Scavenger and was hoping this would see it. Device Manager doesn't show anything either. Any suggestions on what I can do to see the drive and possible recover files? Thanks and Regards, John |

| Re: Can't See Drive on HDD in an Enclosure Well, the enclosure may be bad, or the drive may be improperly configured for that enclosure (master / slave / cable select). OR, the drive may really be gone. Try another enclosure, or try an IDE adapter. Can you hear the HD spin up when it's in the external enclosure? Sounds like you've got a dead drive on your hands. -- James Visit the Thinkpad Forums http://forum.thinkpads.com |
