Battery recall listings from PC World

More recalls: to see whether your laptop is affected, check the
appropriate link, by the cutoff date of December 31:
Satellite or Tecra series Toshiba notebooks:
Toshiba Battery Exchange Program Information

R, T, or X series ThinkPad notebooks:
Battery recall

Fujitsu's LifeBook models:
Notice Regarding Sony Battery Pack Replacement Program

And be ready for more: Sony says it will announce additional recalls for
other laptop batteries that use the defective cells.

Not strictly relevant, but nevertheless pertinant. I was in the electrical
dept. of a well known department store on Saturday, which was displaying an
array of recall notices for various products. The common denominator was
that all the recalls referred to exploding batteries.

Does anyone know how much this is really costing Sony?
