| Re: Do Any Other Laptops Beside IBM Have a TrackPoint-Like Mouse? just met with someone looking for a laptop and we both agreed the trackpoint is THE deciding factor in a purchase. If you're browsing the internet maybe it doesn't matter , but using in to do something on YOUR laptop I find it a LOT easier than picking my hand up - moving to the touchpad area sliding across/tapping/ then continuing typing. <mutefan******.com> wrote in message news:1156156940.807996.215530@p79g2000cwp.googlegr oups.com... > zwsdotcom******.com wrote: >> >> Unfortunately the trackpoint appears to be dying out in favor of the >> trackpad. I suspect that this is getting more widespread -- trackpoint, second battery bay, and even 4:3 screens are becoming the sort of thing you have to pay extra for. Dell, for example will let you get any of those on a Lattitude (the "business" version of their laptops) but I don't think any of the Inspirons have the trackpoint or the extra battery bay. --Charles |
