| Dell Discounts. Hi, I heard that usually before Christmass, Dell has some incredible deals comming up (I heard that last year they had almost 50% off etc). Are they only avialable by using a code or are they usually advertised at their website eg "After 300$ instant saving". If they're only with help of a code, where do I find them (I'm living in Europe, but have friends that go there all the time so they could bring me a nice christmass present :) ). Thanks for your help. Regards, Raphael |

| Re: Dell Discounts. Usually only by using a semi-secret code, but sometimes the codes show up on their web site also. Actually, they often have discounts, although right this moment, they don't have anything really special. But there was a coupon (code) that expired just yesterday for 30% off most laptops priced at $1,299 or more. There will probably be a new similar code this coming week ... that one is common. The one I'm hoping for, which they had twice last year before Christmas, is "$750 off $1,500 [or more]". So you get a really loaded up laptop (fast CPU, huge hard drive, DVD burner, lots of memory and a 4 year warranty with accidental damage coverage) for $750. No guarantee that a 50% coupon will happen, but 30% off is a common sure thing, that one shows up quite often. The best place to watch for these is at www.techbargains.com Raphael Karwin-Krawczyk wrote: > Hi, > I heard that usually before Christmass, Dell has some incredible deals > comming up (I heard that last year they had almost 50% off etc). I'm still debating between an IBM T60p and some really hooked up Dell :). |

| Re: Dell Discounts. The problem with buying a US unit if you don't live in the US is that you may have a real problem if you need service. But from what I've seen, prices here are lot better than almost everywhere else in the world. In some cases, you might save enough to come to the US to pick it up, although Dell being almost exclusively mail-order, that is difficult. | Re: Dell Discounts. Yes, I already thought of that, but with that kind of saving, I might as well get an international warranty and accidental damage cover :) That's around 300 US for 4 years, so I'll still have 400 bucks to spend on making that baby fly ;) "Barry Watzman" <WatzmanNOSPAM@neo.rr.com> wrote in message news:454D2CC1.7010402@neo.rr.com... > The problem with buying a US unit if you don't live in the US is that you > may have a real problem if you need service. Oh people overseas can send as many Dells to my house as they want too and that is fine with me. And they are more then welcome to come and pick them up if they like too. As I don't mind one bit. ;) -- Bill |

| Re: Dell Discounts. Barry- Do you remember the Dell model/models that were advertised at $750.00 off $1,500 or more?Just want to be on the lookout for them. I checked out Techbargains. That's quite a website. Lots of info. Bob. | Re: Dell Discounts. No, I don't remember, and anyway what they did last year has no bearing on what they might do this year. Just keep your eyes open (PS - the best deals are quantity limited and sell out fast (hours)) shareyourknowledge********.com wrote: > Barry- Do you remember the Dell model/models that were advertised at > $750.00 off $1,500 or more?Just want to be on the lookout for them.
