| Laptop keyboard mod? Has anyone seen a mod for laptop that will backlight the keyboard. I think apple sold a G4 powerbook that had this feature. It would self adjust. I would like to add this to my Gateway CX200X taplet pc. When I work with it at night I can't see the keyboard and it would be nice if the keys would light up and I could adjust from dim to bright and off. I have been digging but I haven't seen a kit for this. Anyone see one somewhere? Thanks Russ |

| Re: Laptop keyboard mod? Just about impossible to do after the fact, since the keys themselves are opaque plastic. It would be easy to offer a laptop with this "feature", but it would use power and shorten battery life. So most people would probably rather pass. | Re: Laptop keyboard mod? Just go with one of those $10 USB LED lights (imitation of the Thinkpad's builtin "Thinklight" ;-) ROC Barry Watzman wrote: > Just about impossible to do after the fact, since the keys themselves > are opaque plastic. The key caps would have to be translucent, there would have to be a tiny LED under each one, and a light sensitive circuit to control the LED array would have to be integrated. Just do as others have suggested an get one of the cheapie USB LED lights. Bobby |
