Or Toshiba M45 or A105?

Both of those models came in different flavors built by different
manufacturers for Toshiba. Due to different motherboard chipsets,
hard drive types (PATA or SATA) and video chips the recovery discs
were not interchangable. If it was the incorrect disc they would do
the recovery ok but would then hang on reboot just as decribed by the
OP. Toshiba only labeled the recovery discs with the generic M45 or
A105 model number. Toshiba shipped quite a few of those two models
with the wrong recovery disc. Getting the right one can be an
exercise in frustration.

Good luck,
