When I am trying to use my laptop (An acer Ferrai 4000) with the
charging cable plugged in the screen flashes from dark to light, I am
guessing that the charging cable is not fully charging it and the
computer is getting the power charge and then not getting it....Also,
it takes a lot longer to charge then it should, it did not use to do
this but it felt like there is a kink in the cable somewhere.... Any
second opinions?

That's possible ... so is a bad DC power jack.
