| laptop puchase field work bioacoustic research sound analysis i need a laptop for a coastal environment and to use with Word the sound analysis programs eg are at: http://www.birds.cornell.edu/brp/SoundSoftware.html durability is necessary, weight is not a factor nor battery drain and replacement price for the inevitable choosing an effective best buy can be novice confusing for example: a Dell Inspiron 9400 v XPS M1710 is with add ons $1800 for an inspiron and owowowo $3000 for the XPS will the 9400 produce? and why is the XPS twice the 9400? is the XPS more seaworthy? what's the best buy for the purpose from any manufacturer?      |
