Hp Pavillion External Monitor Probs

Is their a trick to activating the external monitor on the Pavallion
n5210's? I'm using the rca plug on the back s/video to a monitors S/video
input. The monitor briefly flickers when the computers booting up. I went
into advanced display settings and clicked on a external monitor icon. I
have a S3 Savage video driver programed in. Closing the lid doesn't do it
either. Thanks in advance
Dave

Re: Hp Pavillion External Monitor Probs

look at the "F" buttons F1-F12, its usually F10 that has a picture of a
monitor on it, so hold
"Fn" and the F button that has the monitor pic on it and see if that works.

Re: Hp Pavillion External Monitor Probs

The screen flickers as if a picture image is being sent to the monitor but
that is all, maybe the external video cards output is bad on this old
machine.
