Ubuntu ACER 5000

Ubuntu ACER 5000
Could NOT get Wireless to work - it did recognize USING THE "Run from CD"
network card.

Also could not set up my HP5550 printer. It is connected to the D-Link
Router and (under windows) has the port set to D-Link LPT1.

I am so ****ed new to Ubuntu that I can barely spell it - so my problems may
be a failure to understand the UNIX-Like terminology.

Any help??
