Re: ACPI failure with Win2K on IBM TransNote with 64+356 Meg

IBM Thinkpads are very picky about RAM - chips you'd think are
perfectly compatible will give you exactly the problem you described.
I've got two IBM Transnotes and got the blue screen errors with my
256MB chips from Crucial. I had two 64MB chips that worked fine, and
noticed that these were 100Mhz (the Crucial was 133Mhz, but they said
it was fine), and that these had fewer chips on the card. I ordered
some memory on eBay from the same manufacturer as the 64MB chips and
I haven't had a problem since. I don't know the company's name, but
their logo is a stylized M.

Good luck with your t-note!

Thank you for the advice, - as far as I know now, you must use RAM of
the type with chips on both sides, - possibly you have to stand on one
leg when installting it too :-)
