Hi there,

Trying to reformat my girlfriend's laptop but it wont let me change
the booting device from the hard drive to the dvd/cd rw drive.

Any ideas?

Is the drive listed in BIOS setup? If not, then there is likely a
problem with the drive.

Press F2 at the Acer logo/post screen to config the BIOS. You can then
change the boot order. I set my Acer Aspire 3002LCi to USB Floppy first,
CD/DVD second, Hard Drive third, Network Boot last.

Or you can simply press F12 at the Acer logo/post screen, and the BIOS
should let you select which device you want to use for that boot-up only.
