Win 2000 touchscreen/pen driver for Fujitsu Stylistic LT C-500?

After the ordeal of getting Win2K on a "new"(er) 20GB HDD on this unit,
I went to Fujitsu's driver download site and found the drivers for about
everything else: audio, video, dock ethernet, modem, etc. However, the
pen driver download files in that category (twice it seems but diff
names, and slightly diff sizes: PenW2k1.4.exe, st3400_pen-w2k.exe) both
seem to be for the Stylistic 3400, and neither are accepted by the W2K
hardware install wizard. Any ideas as to why those driver files are in
with the C-500 files, but nothing for its own touchscreen/pen, and where
I could find the driver?

I had gotten the Win98 pen driver the same way when I first got the
C-500 a year or 2 ago, and it was the correct one (would still be with
W98 if I did not have to have W2K for the latest Delorme Street Atlas
2007 - grrrr - but it makes such a near-perfect GPS unit with its
transflective 8-inch screen and tablet form factor, and touch screen -
blast Delorme!)

TIA,
ROC

I believe the pen driver is integrated with the HWR software, which
Fujitsu doesn't make available (for license reasons, probably). There
was a site with a link to a Japanese place that offered the entire
downloadable driver set... search the web in general for "stylistic
drivers" and you might find it (took me some searching). I've since
sold my C500 so I don't have a copy of the archive readily available.

Thanks for the tip - I will search as you suggest.

It still baffles me as to why they would "fake out" users by including
those files for the 3400 in the group with the rest of the c500 driver
files in place of the ones that should be there. I am not looking for
the CIC PenX handwriting recognition stuff (tried it on the Win98
installation, and found it too hard to use - Palm's Graffiti it ain't).
I am just looking for the basic mouse function touchscreen stuff for
select, click, drag, drop, etc.

It seems to me that should not be any more of a legal issue for Win2K
than it is for the readily available Win98 drivers. But then IANAL (and
they can be blasted along with Delorme ;-)

The version of PenX with the C500 was _much_ better than the version
that came with the 3400 (yes, I owned both machines). IIRC, the tablet
driver was a separate install on the 3400, but in the C500, the system
shipped with a special version of the driver as part of the PenX
install.

When you find that archive, you'll find the full PenX install for the
machine. It works pretty well, give it a try.

(On the 3400, I never got it working to the point where I could just
write anywhere on the screen. On the C500, it was relatively effortless
and worked with _ALMOST_ every program).
